Although we are mountain bikers through and through we too have been seduced by the raw speed and purity of road biking. We had requests from a few of our regular visitors who ride both mountain bikes and road bikes. They said if you can do a Tour du Mont Blanc on mountain bikes then you must be able to do it on road bikes! So in July 2005 we got them together and circumnavigated the Mont Blanc Massif on road bikes in just three days.
For 2006 we have decided to offer a road bike Tour Du Mont Blanc. The tour will be similar to the off road version, i.e. supported so all you need to take with you is your normal dayÕs riding kit and a healthy attitude to challenging some of the biggest mountain passes in the Alps. All of your clothing, food, spare parts and tools will be taken each evening to the hotel and will be waiting for you when you arrive each evening. Check out website for the full information. |

10fifty mountain bike holidays have just put their new mountain bike photo gallery live. This photo section will compliment the existing Flash based one with one using standard HTML pages and JPEG images. This is to allow mountain bikers to choose how long they view a particular image before going to the next one. It will also make it easier for 10fifty to keep putting new photos up as holiday guests submit their images of mountain biking in Chamonix and the surrounding French Alps area. |

10fifty Mountain Bike Holidays has a new chalet for this summer mountain biking season in Chamonix, France. The new chalet provides an even higher level of accommodation with improved bedrooms and bathroom facilities. Ian Mills the owner and head guide of 10fifty said the biggest difference will come in the communal areas. "The old chalet was great but restricted what we could offer our guests, this new chalet gives mountain bikers access to a sauna, satellite TV, high speed Internet access and a kicking sound system. We will still be delivering the same high standards and large portions of food to keep the biker fueled up for a great week's mountain biking on some of the world's best singletrack."
Prices are still the same even with the improved chalet facilities, and when you compare them to other companies with their hidden extras and lack of emphasis on quality mountain bike guiding 10fifty's mountain bike holidays are surprisingly low priced. |

10fifty Mountain Bike Holiday guides are this weekend off on their first aid refresher course. The two day mountain first aid course is something that all the guides have to attend. The mountains in Chamonix are an imposing environment and accidents can happen when mountain biking so we like to be prepared, but hope it will never happen. We have have an excellent record when taking people on their mountain bike holidays, so why risk your week's mountain biking in the alps with a ski company when you can go with a real mountain bike holiday company? |
